Major System
major.txt, one peg per line: 36 Mago/a (note). Keys: 0–9 and 00–99; missing keys are gaps. (note) isn't graded. Mago/a accepts mago and maga. The first word alone is accepted. # starts a comment.
| pattern | shows | you type |
|---|---|---|
| peg | a number | its word |
| word | a word | its number |
| mem6, mem4..10 | digits in pairs until ↵, then hidden | the digits |
| enc6 | digits in pairs (only pairs with a peg) | one word per pair |
| dec6 | words | the number |
A miss in a memory drill shows the pegs for those digits. 36 -> mago (also → or =) at any prompt rewrites the peg immediately, in number order, above # ── Suggested by Claude. Time spent remapping isn't counted.
Sequences
- seq add pi 3141592653
- saves sequence pi. Spaces are ignored.
- seq del pi
- removes it.
- learn:pi
- study digits and words, then recall. On a miss: “first slip at digit 7: 26 = Nacho”.
- seq:pi
- recall without study.
- enc:pi
- words against the clock, in 10-digit blocks, in order.
